Welcome to the premiere issue of MOTO, our class newsletter. The MOTO serves several purposes. First, it is a vehicle to publish our writings. Through our writings we share our experiences and encourage others to make the most of their opportunities. We also post importat dates and feature fun facts.
The articles published in The MOTO are written by the adults who currently attend Moultrie Technical College GED classes at Tifton Workforce Center. Students receive classroom instruction in reading, language, mathematics, and Work Ready skills. At WFC students have a certified instructor, computers, and tutors. Students spend class time in a variety of settings; whole class instruction, small group instruction, and small group tutorials. Computer Assisted Instruction (CIA) and self-paced leveled material are also utilized.
Fall quarter began with 4 GED students. There are currently 21 GED students enrolled at Tifton Workforce Center. Additional personnel has been hired and additional students are expected. The Jan. 6 orientation will be rescheduled due to the extremely cold weather. All the people who were scheduled for the Jan. 6th orientation will be recontacted with the new date.
As the WFC students progress, they become viable candidates for the completing the actual GED test. At that time, they register for and take the official GED test at the Tifton campus of Moultrie Technical College on Tech Drive. Graduation will be in June at the Tifton campus.
